On our daily walks, I try to focus on the positive (ignoring the cold wind) by studying the subtle colors and textures of tree bark as well as seed heads of wildflowers.
Mrs. Macken worked as cook and manager at the former Stockbridge Plain School from 1969 until 1984. From 1990 until 2006, Freda worked as a part-time receptionist for the Marion Fathers in Stockbridge.
After her mother-in-law’s retirement in 1966 Dorothea became the Postmaster for the village of Glendale, a position she held until her retirement in 1992.
