Six Stockbridge ladies joined together to form a club to save at least one Hungarian refugee. Their plan was to invite a refugee to Stockbridge to be housed and fed during the winter. Henry Sedgwick sent Ferdinand Hoffmann.
In a letter to the editor, Anita Schwerner writes, "Don Chabon is the only Stockbridge Board of Selectman candidate with experience and expertise in town government, having served as selectman for three years and as chairman for two."
