Marcella K. Mercer, 85, of Lee, a maker of quilts

She spent much of her retirement happily designing, cutting, sewing, basting, and binding quilts. And forever working on the next great quilt.

Lucy Santolin, 85, of Lee

She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Lee, loved playing cards with her friends and, most of all was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Mary Murray, 94, of Lee

Mary was employed by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles, from where she retired after 30 years of service.

Patricia Senter, 89, of Lee

Pat graduated from the former Berkshire Business College in 1948 and went to work for Durant-Forman Insurance in Lee for several years.

Gail Whitehead, 55, of Great Barrington

Gail later transitioned to teaching dance full-time and became head of dance at the Elliot School in Putney, West London, where she taught dance and physical education.

Lynda McDarby, 75, of Lenox, retired English teacher

Lynda taught English at Taconic High School in Pittsfield for many years, retiring in 2003.

Margaret LaRocque, 86, of Lee

She had an uncanny ability to laugh at herself in any situation.

Ernest Brazee Jr., 66, of Lee

He was educated in Lee schools and began working for the parish of St. Mary’s in Lee at a young age, retiring in 2015.

Joseph Puleri Sr., 84, of Lee

He then worked for Eaton Paper for 33 years and traveled across the country as the president of the International Paper Makers Union.

Margaret ‘Ann’ Collins, 86, of Lee

In addition to raising nine children, Ann worked alongside her husband at Collins Veterinary Hospital in Lee throughout his career.

Patricia Brown, 90, of Lee

Mrs. Brown worked for the New England Telephone and Telegraph for many years, and later in the Lee High School cafeteria and the housekeeping department at Meadow Place in Lenox.

William Enser Jr., 67, of Lee

Bill owned and operated the former Berkshire Enviro-Labs in Lee for over 35 years before his retirement three years ago.

William Dewkett Sr., 96, of Lee

Mr. Dewkett served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Technician Fourth Grade, 113th Ordnance Medium Maintenance Co. in the Bismarck – Archipelago Campaign.

Nannette Dunn, 96, of Lenox

Nan was employed by Smith Paper Co. during the World War II years and later by SPINC Federal Credit Union for over 25 years.

A. Lydia Barenski, 89, of Lee

Besides being known as a wonderful baker, Lydia enjoyed crocheting, was a proud member of the Prospect Street Club Girls, the Red Hat Society and an active member of St. Mary’s Parish.

M. Doris McCauley, 92, of Lee

Mrs. McCauley worked as a waitress at local restaurants and was last employed by Lee High School where she worked in the cafeteria.
