Mrs. Germain was the co-owner of Germain Construction, and had also been employed at Sheffield Plastics, Berkshire Realty & Construction Co., and was the former Alford town clerk and a secretary at the McGee unit at Hillcrest Hospital.
There are many reasons why young people aren’t going into carpentry in greater numbers. But locally there are at least two programs beginning, perhaps, to change that, at Lee High School and at Monument Mountain Regional High School.
He was employed as a manager at Sheffield Plastics for 20 years. After retiring from there, he joined the Moritz family at Aquatic Designs of Sheffield for over 20 years.
Corey graduated from United Technical Institute in North Carolina as a certified mechanic, then worked several years for Skip Barber Racing and subcontracted with pit crews at Saratoga, Lime Rock and Lebanon Valley, including Jimmy Langenback and Justin Barber.
She was a member of the Rosary Society and the Daughters of Isabella. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Bess was also a part of her neighborhood sewing club.
Among his many interests and pastimes he was a farmer at heart. He kept a keen eye on activities at the neighboring Turner Farm operated by his nephews Bill, Paul and Daryl. In addition, he loved buying, refurbishing and reselling old Farmall cub tractors and the many acquaintances he made as a result.
