The moon has been an important subject in English poetry dating back to Chaucer in the 14th century, who was an astronomer as well as a poet. There is a crater on the far side of the moon named for Chaucer.
Anita was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield. She was a member of the Sheffield American Legion and the Wyantenuk Country Club.
During his tour he served with the Infantry in Ardennes, Central Europe and Rhineland, and received the Eame Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
