She was employed for many years at the Berkshire Courier as a journalist and editor. She also had her own real estate company, Quarry Hill Realty, for several years.
Ann joined the Cadet Nurse Corps as a student and then, after graduation, became an RN. She also earned a master's degree in Human Services from Russell Sage College.
She attended Russell Sage College in Troy, N.Y. Mrs. Cobden worked as a newspaper writer, an advertising executive and a saleswoman for printing firms in the Hartford area.
