“I’m retelling a lot of stories in the Bible from more of a queer and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) perspective,” Tedeschi told The Berkshire Edge. “What I’m saying is, why do we accept some of the things that we accept? Why is there racism? Why is there sexism?"
In her letter Carol Diehl writes: "The petition to repeal the single-serve plastic water bottle ban might never even have come up if the proponents of the ban had, from the beginning, presented it in a way that related it specifically to the needs of Great Barrington."
In their letter Chris and Matt Massiero, owners of Guido's Fresh Marketplace write: "As small-business owners, we are in the unique position to make business decisions that can change the future, both for our present community and all the future generations we hope will inherit this planet.
In addition to the 80 Massachusetts cities and towns that have acted on bag bans, more than 200 local, state and New England regional organizations have endorsed the action.
In Great Barrington, it's costing $150,000 annually and is rising at 30 percent per year, to unclog the town sewer system. Reliable estimates put the cost of fixing the wipe clogs nationwide at $1 billion per year.
