The three Democratic candidates for governor of Massachusetts will share the stage in Berkshire County for a forum on the future of the region and Massachusetts, moderated by Sen. Adam Hinds, D-Pittsfield.
It appears the state may have made its decision to award the purchase option to North Plain Farms owner Sean Stanton because the initial proposal by Helia Native Nursery owner Bridghe McCracken did not conform to its guidelines for maximum commercial agricultural value for use of the land.
The agriculture bill provides opportunities and protections to current and prospective farmers throughout Massachusetts, increases access and availability of locally grown food products, and invests in educational and agricultural programs to further grow the industry.
