Berkshire Hills voted unanimously to appoint two subcommittees. The first will focus on the nuts and bolts of a potential consolidation. On the recommendation of the Southern Berkshire school committee, a second subcommittee would focus on the educational aspect of the potential consolidation.
The Berkshire Hills Regional School Committee voted unanimously to send a letter to Southern Berkshire and its five member towns asking to establish a planning group to explore consolidation for grades 9-12

In 2016, the Regional Agreement Amendment Committee was formed with citizens from our three towns to once again review and update the Regional Agreement of the Berkshire Hills Regional School District. They met for more than a year.
Selectboards of all three towns in the district must first agree to form the committee to amend the district agreement before going any further in the amendment process. West Stockbridge is to vote on the matter at their meeting next week. And it is not certain that all three towns will agree to the process.
