Many of the dishes to be served at the Heritage Festival and Family Feast date back to Colonial New England and will be prepared according to heirloom recipes, including brown bread, cornbread pudding and baked beans.
In her talk at St. James Place, Mary Berry will address the topics of what it will take for farmers to be able to afford to farm well, and how to become a culture that supports good farming and land use.
Volunteers from across the state will celebrate New York’s park system by cleaning up park lands and beaches, planting trees and gardens, restoring trails and wildlife habitats, removing invasive species, and working on construction and site improvement projects.
