For those who want to "get out there," either as an excuse to get outside or to fix the view out the window, the landscape could still use your attention.

John J. Pignatelli, 95, of Lenox, longest serving Lenox selectman, among other town and county roles in a life of service

John served with never an intimation nor whisper that any of his actions were influenced by the thought of personal gain. John’s humble, honest and dedicated approach to elected office has made him a true friend of the people he has served. 

Dr. Donald Lana, 84, of Lee

Dr. Lana had practiced podiatry in Pittsfield for 28 years.

John Boddie, 87, of Great Barrington, founding member of Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad

John Boddie also worked for many years as a special patrolman for Great Barrington and Stockbridge, a Berkshire County deputy sheriff, and at Birches-Roy Funeral Home.

David Fay, 82, of Otis

David was a Eucharistic minister and was involved with the Knights of Columbus in Lee. Mr. Fay was also active with the Shriners and St. Jude.

Stephen Cozzaglio, 85, of Lee, former principal of Lee Elementary School

Mr. Cozzaglio taught for 13 years, six of which were in Stockbridge; was vice principal for 22 years and principal for three years within the Lee Elementary School system.

James Ferris, 93, of Pittsfield

Jim was employed as a toolmaker at General Electric for 23 years where he worked in the main tool room. He then taught machine shop at Taconic High School for 24 years until his retirement in 1989.

Robert Guidi, 95, of Lee

Bob was appointed by the Governor to work on land acquisitions including ones for construction of the Massachusetts Turnpike. He applied his expertise as a member of the team to build Monument Mountain Regional High School.

Nicholas F. Wool, 93, of Monterey

After returning home from his service Nicholas was a partner with his father Anthony with Wool’s Taxi and Wool’s Garage.
