Six Stockbridge ladies joined together to form a club to save at least one Hungarian refugee. Their plan was to invite a refugee to Stockbridge to be housed and fed during the winter. Henry Sedgwick sent Ferdinand Hoffmann.
The OLLI University Day speakers will include Sen. Adam Hinds; Ben Forman, research director at MassINC; Christine Rudd, director of Roca in Springfield; Berkshire County Sheriff Tom Bowler; and Kate Byrne of the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative in Albany, New York.Â
