When county schools closed March 13, Jenny Schwartz quickly became a liaison of sorts between schools and community partners, with representatives from about 15 groups who have been meeting regularly via Zoom to gain traction on the myriad challenges surrounding food insecurity.
The hip-hop performance will be the culmination of the Mahaiwe education program’s four-day in-school residency taught by hip hop masters Baba Israel, Yako 440, Ken Fury and Grace Galu featuring students from Monument Valley Regional Middle School, Mount Everett Regional School and Herberg Middle School.
During her tenure on the Clark Art Institute board beginning in 1992, she was deeply involved at the museum and was an early supporter of the institute’s major expansion that included two buildings by architect Tadao Ando.

The full name of Smith’s restaurant is “John Andrews, a farmhouse restaurant.” Thus it is not surprising that each week Smith presents a special menu highlighting the bounty of a local farm. Recently the menu featured Susan Sellew’s Rawson Brook Farm goat cheese.
