The Pittsfield Cultural Council has announced more than three dozen grants to be awarded to a broad array of projects and initiatives by local artists and cultural organizations.
To be eligible for an award, a farm must have gross sales of $10,000 or above, and be a member of either Berkshire Grown or Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture or located in one the four counties of Western Massachusetts.
In her letter Holly Morse writes: "In this election, we have the opportunity to set Massachusetts on a path to become a laboratory and beacon for the rest of the country — on health care, infrastructure, workers’ rights, a truly green economy and greater income equality."
Less than a year after its formation, the Great Barrington Affordable Housing Trust Fund now has a total of $50,000 to lend to qualified first-time homebuyers.

If life is a journey, he made the most of it, embracing it wholeheartedly with a tireless quest for knowledge, and a great love of the arts, literature and above all nature. He spent some of his happiest times transforming the landscape around his home and hiking, either the Appalachian Trail, of which he completed over 2,000 miles, or with the local Monday Mountain Boys.
