Alfred Nobel (1833-1896), the inventor of dynamite, was a chemist, engineer, businessman and, most memorably, philanthropist; he was also a scholar, fluent in Russian, French, English and German. Above all, he loved poetry.
The cast was extremely thoughtful and open-hearted in discussing the importance and relevance of this show, what makes it special and why they love the theater.
As to playing Prospero? Jolyn Unruh remembers her inner thoughts: “I’m just recovering from cancer treatment, and I’m exhausted and I’m kind of overwhelmed — I’m finishing my master’s degree—but I would never say no to that!”
