Later in life Raymond went on to continue his education. He received a degree from the Gemological Institute of America in 1980 and Berkshire Community College in 2001.
Evelyn was a staunch supporter of the Greenwoods Community Church in Ashley Falls and its missionary work. She was a missionary chairwoman for many years and gave generously of not only her time but also of whatever else was needed.
