There is nothing "surgical" about the operation, nothing "surgical" about chaos, destruction, and death. In medical terms, if the patient doesn't survive the surgery, it was not quite surgical enough.
Though my one favorite moment is gone from this production, it was still one of those lovely Connecticut nights seeing such a fine production of this show.
Oliver asks for a little bit more in the opening scene, and I would ask the same of this production: a little bit more, please, of the pleasing aspects of the show and a little bit less of the darkest side
