The independent bookstore is known for offering an eclectic collection of new, used, rare, antiquarian, and out-of-print books, complemented by clever displays.
In his letter Michael Vincent Bushy writes: “We need a District Attorney with an awareness of how the system pushes certain communities into poverty and keeps them there every single day.”
The main stage at the Gather-In will feature folksingers Kim and Reggie Harris, a performance of Jacob’s Pillow’s Pittsfield Moves! community engagement initiative, the Soul Steps dance troupe from New Jersey, Youth Alive and Funk Box Studio dancers, and more.
At the heart of the Festival of Books is a giant book sale featuring more than 10,000 used books. There’s a special Kid’s Corner for young readers and a media rack full of CDs and audiobooks.
