The Becket Arts Center has announced the installation of a new mechanized chairlift, which will enable patrons who cannot utilize stairs to reach its second-floor gallery.
Sweet comes from a family filled with musicians. His great grandfather “Pop” Sweet was a fiddler and square dance caller and a locally famous storyteller in the Hilltowns.
“You don’t have to have to be a big vocal talent to sing with us. You just have to love gathering around the piano and singing the music we all love with family and friends. Just for the fun of it.”

Staffed by a team of volunteers, the fix-it fair will offer the chance for community members to find solutions for broken or damaged clothing, small appliances, lamps, vacuums, and other household items.
Five thousand copies of “Giving Back: Your Guide to Charitable Opportunities in the Berkshires” will be distributed in November at Berkshire County schools, banks, real estate offices, and businesses.
The Hillsdale ArtsWalk will encompass a variety of art media spanning painting, ceramics and pottery, woodcraft, photography, custom jewelry, found object art, mixed media, fabric art, and metalwork.
