Suspect arraigned in fatal hit and run incident in Stockbridge

The hit and run incident killed Franklin Ripley, 72, of Stockbridge.

Berkshire County — Samantha Paige, 36, of West Stockbridge, was arraigned in Southern Berkshire District Court for the alleged hit-and-run incident in Stockbridge on September 28.

According to Julia Sabourin, Chief Operating Officer for the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office, Paige was arraigned on Tuesday, October 1, for the alleged hit-and-run incident which resulted in the death of Franklin Ripley, 72, of Stockbridge.

Paige has been charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Resulting in Death.

Bail has been set at $7,500, and Paige is being held without the right to bail for a probation warrant issued by Central Berkshire District Court on an unrelated case.

The incident remains under investigation by the Stockbridge Police Department, the State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section. Additional charges could come following the conclusion of the investigation.
