Strategy for keeping Division Street bridge open

In his letter Lou Moscatello writes: “Install a camera system similar to what many cities do to catch red-light runners.”

To the editor:

Concerning the Division Street bridge and large truck traffic: Install a camera system similar to what many cities do to catch red-light runners. Ticket any offending trucks by mail, as cities do. Put up signs warning trucks they will be ticketed. Double fines since it is a “work area.” Maybe we can add “Reckless Driving” points on the driver’s license since driving over a prohibited bridge is pretty reckless. If we make the bridge one-lane during this interim repair period and install a one-way traffic stop light on the bridge, the cameras could be linked to the stoplight and each camera would only operate when traffic was crossing the bridge in that camera’s direction.

Never forget January 6, what it was and was not

You must never allow yourself to believe lies when your own eyes have seen the truth—particularly when the truth is uncontrolled fury, rage, and murderous conduct.

Bracing for the next four years

I am sympathetic to all those who are nervous and have elevated anxiety and debilitating depression while facing the next four years. I hear you every day.
