“I’d like to start by thanking Smitty Pignatelli for his decades of service, first as a selectman and then as our voice for the Third District serving the Southern Berkshires,” White said in a written statement to The Berkshire Edge. “I am running to be your next state representative. With a career in business, nonprofit leadership, and as a Stockbridge selectman, I will continue to focus on the vital interests of Berkshire County. We have so much going for us: our beautiful outdoors, a vibrant cultural scene, world-class nonprofits, and a quality of life that makes South County one of the most amazing places to grow up, raise your family, and retire. We have our share of challenges. The exploding cost of housing, the challenges to our rural landscape, climate impacts, the lack of good paying jobs, and tremendous pressures on municipal budgets. With my training in economics, my background in founding and running start-ups, my work as the CFO of a local nonprofit, and my years of experience as a Stockbridge selectman, I have the skills, the energy, the passion, and the vision to make this wonderful place even better. I work hard. I think it’s worth it.”

Pignatelli has served the community for more than 37 years as an elected official.
