Stockbridge needs McMenamy as selectman

In their endorsement letter to the editor, Toby and Andy Levine write: "Whether we look to past accomplishments or future plans, Deb McMenamy's extensive knowledge of Stockbridge’s history and needs along with her congenial approach to town governance should not be lost."

To the editor:

As Stockbridge residents, we have been extraordinarily fortunate these last 15 years to have had Deb McMenamy on our Stockbridge Board of Selectmen. She is smart, thoughtful, conscientious, fair, hard-working, and absolutely committed to the welfare of all Stockbridge residents.

Among the accomplishments for which we can thank Deb are: improved cell service, an expanded senior center, the creation of an Elderly and Disabled Tax Relief Fund, passage of the Community Preservation Act, creation of the Historical Preservation Commission, Sunday opening of the compactor, and stewardship of the relocation of Town Offices to the former Plain School along with the development of its rental spaces that provide income to the town.

Looking to the future, Deb hopes to spark revision of the Town Master Plan – written nearly 20 years ago when demographic and growth predictions were vastly different than they are today – which would include input from all citizens of the town.

Whether we look to past accomplishments or future plans, Deb’s extensive knowledge of Stockbridge’s history and needs along with her congenial approach to town governance should not be lost. We urge all Stockbridge residents to vote for Deb McMenamy on May 19.

A reflection on No Kings Day

I don't know what kind of drugs the Trump administration and Fox News thinks Americans are on, but their response to No Kings Day defies belief—even by MAGA standards.
