Great Barrington — Via a press release, the Massachusetts School Building Authority announced that the MSBA will award a grant of up to $59,983,492 to the Berkshire Hills Regional School District for a new high school building
The next step in the funding process will be for the school district and the MSBA to enter into a project funding agreement that will detail the project’s scope and budget, along with the conditions under which the district will receive its MSBA grant.
According to documents from the school district, the total cost of the building project will be approximately $152 million.
According to Great Barrington’s property database, the current Monument Mountain Regional High School  building was built in 1966.
Residents in Great Barrington, Stockbridge, and West Stockbridge are set to vote on November 4 on whether or not to approve the new high school building.
