Southern Berkshire Regional School District Superintendent Regulbuto resigns

Regulbuto was originally hired by the school district in July 2017.

Update 2:20 p.m.: At the beginning of the Southern Berkshire Regional School District Committee meeting on June 12, Board Chair Arthur Batacchi read the following letter by Superintendent Beth Regulbuto:

“It is with mixed emotions that I submit my resignation effective August 15. After eight years of service to this extraordinary district and community, I’ve decided it’s time to begin a new chapter in my professional and personal life. This decision did not come easily as my time in the district has been the most meaningful and fulfilling in my career. It has been a privilege to work alongside dedicated educators, staff, and community members who share a deep commitment to the success and well-being of every student. Together we have faced challenges with determination and celebrated milestones that reflects the strength and resilience of this district.”

In response, Batacchi said after reading the letter that “This is a sad day for this district.”

Sheffield — According to multiple reports, at a school committee meeting on Thursday, June 12, Southern Berkshire Regional School District Superintendent Beth Regulbuto resigned.

Regulbuto was originally hired by the school district in July 2017.

The Berkshire Edge has reached out to Regulbuto, and School Board Chair Arthur Batacchi for comment.

On Monday, June 10, the school committee held negotiations with the Southern Berkshire Regional Education Association.

While the committee accepted a tentative agreement for Unit D contracts, it did not approve contracts for Unit A.
