Shauna Lee Trierweiler, 47, of Sheffield

Shauna's life will be celebrated on Friday, September 1 at 12 p.m. at Birches and Roy Funeral Home. A space to share memories of Shauna will follow the service at 4 p.m. at the Canaan VFW Post 6851.

Shauna Lee Trierweiler, 47, of Sheffield, and formerly Oxnard, Calif0rnia, born January 22, 1976 in Ventura County, Calif., passed away suddenly on August 12, 2023.

Shauna is survived by her husband of 17 years, Nicholas Charles Trierweiler of 329 Cross Rd., in Sheffield. Shauna is also survived by her loving family: her mother, Carolyn Henson-Smith of Ventura County, Calif.; her sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Will Fortney of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and Katherine and Will’s children, Brenden Eccles, Taylor Eccles, Zachary Eccles, and Kaylee Fortney. Shauna also leaves behind her brother, Ronn Self Jr., of Port Vincent, La.; her aunts, Judy Gil of Atascadero, Calif. and Linda Granberry of Camarillo, Calif.; and her cousins, Brian and Hailey (spouse) Gil and Sarah Granberry. Additionally, she leaves behind her beloved in-laws, John Trierweiler and Barbara Ely-Bizzi of Sheffield and Pittsfield, Laurie and Thomas Flynn of Housatonic, and John Jr and Kelly Trierweiler of County Road in Sheffield.

Shauna was predeceased by her dearly cherished father, William “Bill” Smith; her grandparents, Marvin and Bonnie Smith; her dearly loved “Granny,” Leylon Elizabeth Hale; and her sister-in-law, Brenda Phillips.

A truly family-oriented person, nothing in the world was more important to Shauna than the loyal and meaningful connections to them.

Shauna was well-known as an avid animal lover, rescuer, and enthusiast. She loved her work at various local veterinarians, brightening and welcoming all creatures big and small. Along with her animals, family and friends were her greatest passion. Creating a beautiful home and a lover of art and music—her emotional connection to all was unlimited.

Shauna’s life will be celebrated on Friday, September 1 at 12 p.m. at Birches and Roy Funeral Home, 33 South St., in Great Barrington. A space to share memories of Shauna will follow the service at 4 p.m. at the Canaan VFW Post 6851, 104 S Canaan Rd., North Canaan, Conn.
