Sharon L. Atwood, 75, of West Stockbridge passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon was born March 26, 1947 in Richmond, Va., the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Warnock) Tatum.

She graduated from Searles High School in 1965. She worked at First Agriculture Bank as well as Great Barrington Savings Bank where you were sure to be greeted with a friendly smile. Sharon retired early and would often be seen mowing at St. Peter’s Cemetery. She always enjoyed a perfectly manicured lawn and beautiful flowers.
On June 15, 1968 she married Rich (Rip), the love of her life, at St. Peter’s Church in Great Barrington. Her greatest blessings were spending time with her family, the many laughs, good times, and memories that will be cherished forever.
Sharon leaves behind her husband of 54 years, Richard Atwood, Sr; their three children, Richard Atwood, Jr., and wife Heather, Michele Hill, Brenda Bailly and husband Craig; her nine grandchildren, Chelsea, Zach, Kayla, Myah, Ashley, Alexis, Dakota, Christian, and Jackilyn; four great grandchildren, Weston, Lukas, Brody, and Jesse; as well as two nieces, Terri and Kim.
She was predeceased by her parents and her two sisters, Mae and Betty.
Sharon was blessed to be able to have the best at home care from her favorite PITA, Mary Osak, as well as HospiceCare of the Berkshires and Elder Services. Her family is grateful for their loving care and support.
Liturgy of a Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 213 Main Street, Great Barrington, MA 01230, conducted by Rev. William P. Murphy, pastor. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Great Barrington.
There will be no calling hours.
