Great Barrington — Adam Carlotto, an 18-year veteran of the town’s Police Department, has been promoted to captain.
According to a press release from Police Chief Paul Storti, Carlotto has served in various capacities during his time with the department including as patrol officer, sergeant, and deputy commander of the Berkshire County Special Response Team.
Carlotto has also advanced several of the department’s key initiatives, including accreditation, advanced firearms instruction, field training, and drone program.
“I have worked side by side with Adam throughout his career,” Chief Storti states in the press release from the Police Department. “Over the past four years, Adam has been second in command for our department. He has demonstrated the ability to oversee the department’s operations in my absence. He has the qualifications, leadership skills, and understanding of the needs of our community.”
“I am honored to take on this new role and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving our community,” Carlotto said. “I look forward to working alongside the dedicated officers of the Great Barrington Police Department to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all community members.”
Carlotto, as the department’s new captain, will oversee community outreach, operations, and training.
