Scott M. Murcray, 56, of Southfield, Mass., died Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at his home.

Scott Murcray

Scott was born March 1, 1963, in Sharon, Connecticut, the son of William and Shirley (Rougeau) Murcray. He worked for many years as a contractor for his own business. Scott loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, panning for gold and even just being outside working around his home or fixing things, but as much as Scott loved the outdoors, his family and friends came first. Scott loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his wife, daughters and grandchildren, to whom he always said “yes.” He was always there for anyone who needed him.

Scott is survived by his mother, Shirley Murcray; his wife, Evelyn (Smith) Murcray; daughters Tina Haddock and Paige Murcray; brother Keith Murcray; sisters Sharron Carlson and Melissa Williams; grandchildren Angeletta, Kaedance, Myra and Stella; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Scott was predeceased by his father, William Murcray.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230, where the family will receive friends Friday, April 26, from 3 to 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Scott’s memory may be made to Boys and Girls Club of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
