Sandra S. Collins, 84, of Housatonic

A funeral mass for Sandra Collins will be held on Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend William P. Murphy, Pastor.

Sandra S. Collins, 84, of Housatonic, died Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pittsfield on March 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Chester A. and Louise (Lewis) Sarmuk.

After graduating from Searles High School, Sandra worked for many years as an executive assistant in education and real estate. Her husband Dr. John C. Collins predeceased her on August 26, 1979. Sandra enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved animals, especially her dog Dolly, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also known as “the Littles.”

Sandra is survived by her children, Holly Troiano and husband Andy, Philip Collins, and Dolley Collins and husband Dave Balch; her grandchildren, Heather DelSoldato and husband Joseph, Angela Troiano-Bynack and husband Stephen, Kevin Troiano and wife Victoria, Dr. McKensie Collins Ph.D., Cameron Collins, Sophia Guimarro, and Joseph Guimarro; her great-grandchildren (“the Littles”), Benjamin Troiano, Syrus Bynack, Sawyer DelSoldato, and Quinn DelSoldato; her sister Candace Gerard; her brother Peter Sarmuk and wife Kim; her nieces and nephews, Lori Kurland, Chester Gerard, Casey Sarmuk, Robert Sarmuk, and Marissa Sarmuk; her great-nephew Robert Sarmuk; and her sister-in-law Barbara Sarmuk-Fernandez. She also leaves her daughter Laurie Meunier and wife Kathleen, as well as many cousins and friends. In addition to her husband John C. Collins, Sandra was also predeceased by her brothers, Daryl L. Sarmuk and Robert B. Sarmuk.

A funeral mass for Sandra Collins will be held on Thursday, June 5, at 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial officiated by Reverend William P. Murphy, Pastor. Condolences may be made through the website of Birches-Roy Funeral Home.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Dery-Foley Funeral Home in Dalton. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 10 a.m., at St. Agnes Church, officiated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow at Ashuelot Cemetery.

A memorial service for Lynn will be held on Wednesday, June 18, at 11 a.m., at the Christian Assembly in Pittsfield. There will be no calling hours, and burial will be private.

Marie Weatherhead, 90, of Lenox

A memorial service is planned at Roche Funeral Home in Lenox on Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at Mazzeo's Ristorante in Pittsfield.
