Ronald H. Timm, 86, of Sheffield

After retiring from the Greenwich Police Department in 1981, Ronald moved to Sheffield and opened Centuryhurst Antiques and Bed & Breakfast with his wife Judith.

Ronald H. Timm lost his long battle with diabetes on Wednesday, Dec. 15, while under the care of HospiceCare in the Berkshires.

Ronald H. Timm

He was born in Brooklyn, New York on July 22, 1935, and grew up and attended school in Mt. Kisco, in Westchester County, New York. After graduating from Katonah High School in 1953 Ronald joined the U.S. Navy and served until 1957.

In 1958 he married his wife Judith and moved to Greenwich, Connecticut. Soon after he joined the Greenwich Police Department and retired as a Detective. This gave him the opportunity to be involved in a number of high-profile investigations.

Upon retiring in 1981 they moved to Sheffield, Massachusetts, and opened Centuryhurst Antiques and Bed & Breakfast. Both the Antiques and the B&B provided their retirement with some very interesting times.

Ronald enjoyed traveling for antiques and learning all about the business, of which he was in charge for 27 years. In his next retirement his interest turned to collector car shows, until his health would not allow him to continue.

Ronald is survived by his wife Judith, son Roderick K. Timm (Meg), grandsons Ryan R. Timm, Joel A. Timm (Ashley), granddaughter Marcie H. Timm, and great-grandson Levon Kenneth Timm. He was predeceased by his sons Kenneth and Wayne. Condolences may be made through the Birches-Roy Funeral Home website.
