Ronald A. Bernoi of Davenport, Fla., passed away peacefully at home July 22, 2024, with his wife of 63 years Theresa Bernoi by his side. He was born on August 25, 1939, in Sheffield, the son of the late Leno and Leona Bernoi
In his early years, Ron worked for Lenon Rogers, Great Barrington Milk Exchange, Sheffield Plastics (11 years), M.T. Cavanaugh (28 years), and E.B. Dolby’s Florist (where he also returned part time after retirement).
Ron enjoyed playing softball, bowling, golf, and an occasional game of volleyball with friends and family. He was also a member of the Stockbridge Sportsman Club.
When Ron moved to Florida, he became a member of the Polo Park Golf, where he enjoyed playing golf, boccie, and shuffleboard.
Ron is survived by his wife Theresa; his three children, Sandra Garrett of Lenox, Kelly McCuin and her husband David of Sandisfield, and Mark and his partner Melissa Keenan of Lee; and two grandsons, Brian and Matthew McCuin, both of Sandisfield. Ron was especially proud of both of his grandsons for becoming volunteers for the Sandisfield Fire Department. He leaves two brothers and a sister: Jim Bernoi and partner (Joann McNeil) of Great Barrington; Frank Bernoi and his wife Virginia of Davenport, Fla.; and Mary Peltier and her husband Roger of Washington, Mass. He also leaves his sister-in-law Barbara Percy and her husband Don of Sheffield and his brother-in-law Carmen Mannello and his wife Debbie of Port Orange, Fla., as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother Leno and his wife Betty of Canaan, Conn.; his sister-in-law Rose Ann Stewart and her husband Lenny of Massachusetts; and his niece Laura Bernoi of Great Barrington.
There will be a graveside service on October 5, at 11:30 a.m., in Great Barrington at the Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sandisfield Fire Department, Po Box 22, Sandisfield, MA 01255.
Theresa and her family would like to thank the medical staff at the Orlando Regional Medical Center for the compassionate care that they gave to Ron.
