Robert (Bo) Andrew Maturevich, 77, of Lenox passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, March 23 at Mass General Hospital.

Robert (Bo) Andrew Maturevich.

Born in Pittsfield on July 3, 1945, the son of Anthony and Yvonne Penvenne Maturevich, he attended Lenox schools and was a 1964 graduate of Lenox High School. Mr. Maturevich served his country in the US Coast Guard for 3 years following graduation.

He was a Lineman for Northeast Utilities, later Eversource, for 44 years, he always made certain the lights were on no matter the time, day, or weather. He made many lifelong friends throughout his career and enjoyed spending time with them all.

Robert was a past member of the Lenox Fire Department serving as deputy chief.

Robert married the love of his life, Joan Blair “Jonie,” on November 11, 1967 in St. Joseph’s Church. They created a beautiful life of 56 years together in Lenox.

Besides his wife, Joan of Lenox, Robert is survived by his children, Robert B. Maturevich and Beth A. Maturevich, both of Lenox; his grandchildren, Robyn and Margaret (Maggie) Thiel, Lucas, Christian, and Victor Maturevich; and his siblings, Peter Maturevich of Lenox and Missy Avildsen of New York City.

Besides his parents, Robert is predeceased by his brother, Nicholas Maturevich of Lenox.

Bo was loved by all who knew him. He always took time to give his last dollar to anyone who was in need. He had a heart the size of Lenox and a kind, gentle nature that benefitted everyone. Aside from his wife, Joan, the pride and joy of his life were his children and grandchildren. He was a simple man who enjoyed looking over the beautiful land and life he created for his family. You could always find Bo riding around in his Kubota “patrolling” his family legacy, listening to old time country and bluegrass music, and enjoying an “occasional” Miller Lite.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, all services will be private with a burial at Mountain View Cemetery. An open house-style celebration of life will be held at the Italian American Club, 203 Newell St, Pittsfield, MA 01201 on April 1, 2023 from 1 to 4 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
