Risen named new Town Clerk for Great Barrington

Risen previously worked in Sheffield in administrative roles.

Great Barrington — Josh Risen, who previously worked as an office administrator for the town manager and selectboard starting in 2023, has been named as the new town clerk.

According to a press release issued by the town on Thursday, July 11, Risen previously worked in Sheffield in administrative roles.

Risen earned a law degree from Western New England University Law School and was admitted to the Massachusetts Bar in 2011.

He replaces Jennifer Messina, who worked as Town Clerk starting in 2019.

The town also announced that Natalie Amendola, who started working as the town’s administrative assistant in January, has been promoted to office administrator.

Amendola is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany and has previously worked as associate for student development at Columbia–Greene Community College.

In the town’s Board of Health department, James Massey has been appointed as health inspector, 

Massey has previously worked for Canyon Ranch in Lenox and Tucson, Essex Resort and Sp in Vermont, and Trinity Health Services.
