Richard Wagner, 72, of Ashley Falls

Richard worked in Falls Village for Northeast Utilities Power Plant as a hydro operator for over 25 years.

Richard Henry Wagner, 72, of Clayton Road passed away Oct. 16, 2018, at his home. Born Feb. 21, 1946, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Henry and Marion Richert Wagner. He was raised in Milford, Concecticut, where he graduated from Milford High School. A proud member of the U.S. Navy from Dec. 27, 1966, until Dec. 18, 1970, Richard served on several ships and submarines including the USS Abraham Lincoln.

Richard married his wife, Carol, June 16, 1967, in Bennington, Vermont. In 1983 the family moved to Canaan, Connecticut, where they lived for over 20 years, later moving to the Sheffield/Ashley Falls area. Richard worked in Falls Village for the Northeast Utilities power plant as a hydro operator for over 25 years. He was an active member of the Canaan Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved teaching his grandchildren how to fish. He was a wonderful “Poppie,” dearly loved by all his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol; along with his son, Richard and wife Ginger; his daughters Rachel and husband Robin, Rebecca, and Ruth and husband John. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren James, Renee, Jazmine, Marissa, MarKenzia, Peyton, Jenaveeve, Oliver, Brett, Devon, Danielle and husband Jamal, Kaya, and Henry; his great-grandson, Robert Charles; his sister, Marian; and his large and loving extended family of beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family of the late Richard H. Wagner will receive friends Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at the FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations in memory of Richard may be made to the Canaan Rod and Gun Club through FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. Roberta A. ‘Bobbie’ Nussbaum, 90, of Egremont

Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.
