Richard F. Snow, “Snowy,” 78, of South Egremont died peacefully in his sleep March 30, 2018. A lifelong resident of Great Barrington, Dick and beloved wife Jan resided in South Egremont for the past 25 years.
Born Aug. 14, 1939, in Great Barrington, he was the son of Harvey and Gertrude Snow. He eventually worked his way up to president of Wheeler & Taylor in 1986 and retired in 1994. Dick was very involved in his community where he was a member of the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce, Construct Inc., United Way, and the board of directors at Pittsfield Cooperative Bank. He also served his country in the U.S. Army.
Besides his wife of 34 years, the former Jan Nyce Snow, Dick is survived by his adoring and adored stepdaughter, Kim Choquette, of California; his stepson, Joseph Choquette, of Colorado; his three sisters: Joyce Schram, Jean Snow and Elaine Miller; and two brothers, Ted and Bruce. He also leaves his two sisters-in-law, Nancy Warner and Marilyn Lewis; and many nieces and nephews. “Snowy” will be sorely missed by his many devoted friends and acquaintances.
