Pittsfield — The city’s Police Department has reported that the remains of Lee Walter Meisenheimer, who was last seen in July 2022, were found on May 14.
According to a press release by Lieutenant John Soules, Meisenheimer was 69 years old when he was reported missing last year.
Lieutenant Soules wrote that Meisenheimer lived alone, did not have any close relatives, and it was not known where his last known was.
The Police Department conducted an extensive search at Meisenheimer’s property, and surrounding areas.
On May 14 at around 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a call at Morningview Drive from a resident who discovered human remains and clothing in a wooded area behind a yard.
A subsequent autopsy positively identified the remains as Meisenheimer.
Lt. Soules reports that there is no evidence to suggest foul play, the cause and manner of death are still being investigated.
