News and Ideas Worth Sharing

HomeViewpointsLettersRegarding the shutdown,...

Regarding the shutdown, Democrats appeared to be in a no-win situation until along came Marjorie Taylor Greene to save them!

As if she is the little boy that points out that the King has no clothes, Greene recognizes that because of the Republican plan, health insurance for her children will DOUBLE (her emphasis), which she correctly recognizes is unacceptable for her as well as for her constituents.

To the editor:

Van Jones of CNN recently said that the Democrats should allow the Republican plan to proceed because people are probably not recognizing the disastrous financial consequences they will face until that happens.

On the face of it, that may appear sound, but the political consequences of doing that would not be understood and would instead appear as if Democrats are not standing up for people. But an unlikely savior has appeared in the form of Marjorie Taylor Greene! Who knew?

As if she is the little boy that points out that the King has no clothes, Greene recognizes that because of the Republican plan, health insurance for her children will DOUBLE (her emphasis), which she correctly recognizes is unacceptable for her as well as for her constituents. She calls out her Republican colleagues for not recognizing this and addressing it.

While Trump is allowed to do as he pleases without being reined in by Republicans or the Supreme Court, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

If you have not been paying attention, you should look into Project 2025. (Medicaid was just the beginning with Medicare and social security next). So you don’t have to guess; it is all there and more in black and white.

I cannot believe I am writing this, but thank you congresswoman Greene!

Where is our congressman?

Jeromie Whalen of South Hadley has been in the Berkshires more in the last couple of months than Neal has been in the last couple of years.

Election day results

Red-state voters are hurt more by Trump policies than blue-state voters, so if MAGA faithful become aware of this, Republicans should not expect those voters to be sheep they intend to slaughter. That is the lesson of Nov. 4.
