Rebecca Carnow Jones, 57, of Great Barrington

In the early 1990’s Mrs. Jones opened the first sole law practice by a woman in Jacksonville, Il.  She devoted countless hours to helping indigent people, women and children.  

Great Barrington — Rebecca Ann Carnow Jones, 57, of Maple Ave., in Great Barrington passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at her home.

Born in Chicago, Il., on February 9, 1962, she was the daughter of Bertram and Virginia Carnow. She attended local schools and went on to earn her law degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

In the early 1990’s Mrs. Jones opened the first sole law practice by a woman in Jacksonville, Il. She devoted countless hours to helping indigent people, women and children.

Rebecca will be remembered as a loving person. She was a phenomenal seamstress, excellent chef and gardener.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 30 years, Royce P. Jones, whom she married on November 18, 1989. She also leaves two sisters, Tina Lisa Carnow of Los Angeles, Calif., and Kalinka Rose Carnow of Newport Beach, Calif.

Maureen Jane Johnson Hickey, 86, of Great Barrington and Naples, Fla.

There will be a gathering to celebrate the life of Maureen Johnson Hickey (1938-2025) at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens in Stockbridge on Saturday, June 28th from 1:00-3:00pm.

Howard Trombley, 77, formerly of Great Barrington

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26 from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at Finnerty & Stevens Funeral Home in Great Barrington.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 10 a.m. at The First Congregational Church, 251 Main St., Great Barrington. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington.

Janet C. Hutchinson, 80, of South Egremont

A celebration of Jan’s life will take place Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 3 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Meeting of South Berkshire. All are welcome to join in celebrating Jan’s life, followed by a reception.
