Rachel Ann Corbett, 87, of Lenox

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services, and a private burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery in Lenox.

Rachel Ann Corbett, 87, of Lenox passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Pittsfield on June 2, 1935, the daughter of Robert and Nellie Decker Cummings. Rachel graduated in 1953 from Lenox High School.

Rachel was employed as a switch board operator for many years having worked for England Brothers, Tanglewood, and Windsor Mountain School, and she later operated her own day-care business from her home for several years. Rachel and her husband, Edward Lawrence Corbett, were married in St. Ann’s Church June 16, 1954. She enjoyed taking care of her animals, loved to read, and was a life-long communicant of St. Ann’s Church.

Besides her husband of Lenox, Rachel is survived by her two sons, Edward L. Corbett III of Lenox and Robert M. Corbett and wife Lise of Berwick, Maine; two daughters, Nelanne Corbett of Pittsfield and Lynmarie Corbett of Austin, Texas; one grandson, Sage of Austin, Texas; two step-grandchildren, Courtney and husband Brian of Berwick, Maine and Zachary of Springvale, Maine; four step-great-grandchildren; loving nieces and nephews; her best friend of 87 years, Marge Prince of Lenox; and her loving friends, Cindy Bodnar, Barb Sibley, and Jacqueline.

She was predeceased by her father and mother; her brothers, Bob Cummings, Ken Cummings and wife Stephie, and Lou Cummings and wife Mary; and her sister, Helen Loughlin and husband John.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal services, and a private burial will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery in Lenox. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rachel’s memory may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240. To share memories and stories, please visit the funeral home’s website.

Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.

Jeffrey E. van Lingen, 62, of Lenox

There will be a service held on Wednesday, May 14, beginning at 11 a.m., at the Roche Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 13, from 4 to 7 p.m.

U Ba Win, 78, of Great Barrington

A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 26, at the Daniel Arts Center at Bard College at Simon's Rock.
