Race Brook Lodge to host Music Inn reunion

Although there will be celebrations all weekend long at the Race Brook, most events will be held Saturday, with storytelling, live music, memorabilia and the reuniting of all friends from the Berkshires' counterculture past.

Sheffield — Calling all hippies! Calling all hippies! The Race Brook Lodge is hosting a reunion for the legendary Music Inn this Saturday, Sept. 29, from 3 p.m. to midnight.

The Music Inn, located next to Tanglewood, was a nationally known outdoor music venue running for about a decade starting in 1970. Headliners included the Eagles, Van Morrison, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Joan Baez, Louie Armstrong, Arlo Guthrie, James Taylor and many others.

“It’s time for Music Inn people to gather again and have some more fun!” said David Rothstein, former co-owner of the venue. “This year we will greet our legendary soundman, Dinky Dawson (stolen from the Byrds), who powered the music for many years.”
