Great Barrington —  An accident that saw a vehicle crash into the Dollar Tree store at the Price Chopper/Tractor Supply Plaza on Stockbridge Road is under investigation.

According to a press release by Police Chief Paul Sorti, on Wednesday, August 17 at around 12:52 p.m., the Great Barrington Police Department received numerous 911 phone calls reporting a motor vehicle accident in the parking lot of the plaza.

The police and fire departments, along with Southern Berkshire EMS, were all dispatched to the scene where they found a 2006 Subaru Forester operated by an as yet unidentified driver from Sheffield had struck a sign, a parked vehicle, rolled over and then crashed into the front of the Dollar Tree store.

According to Sorti, the operator of the vehicle was injured in the crash and transported by Southern Berkshire EMS to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

The driver of the vehicle was not identified in the press release, nor was the extent of the injuries that the driver suffered in the crash, or if anyone else was injured in the incident.

The crash is under investigation by Officers Andres Huertas and Sam Stolzar. 

The department asks that if anyone has any information about the accident to call the Police Department at 413-528-0306.
