POEM: From George to Donald — The Countdown

Washington to Trump: From Founding Father to the Liars Club.

Famously, our country’s first president could not tell a lie.

When asked if he had chopped a tree,

‘Yes, Dad, I did,’ he said, allegedly.

 

And now we have Number 45 who truly cannot tell a lie

because he has no clue as to

what is false and what is true –

 

and yet he won’t be loath

to swear a solemn oath.
