Pittsfield — The Pittsfield Police Department is actively investigating a bank robbery that took place on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at around 9:21 a.m.

According to a press release by the department, officers were dispatched to Berkshire Bank at 66 West Street when a hold up alarm was activated.

Witnesses at the scene describe a suspect as a white male that wore a brown hat, black jacket, jeans, mask, and sunglasses.

The suspect passed a handwritten note demanding money, then proceeded to flee the scene, heading towards the parking deck on McKay Street.

No money was reported taken in the incident, and no injuries were reported.

The department is currently collecting evidence and reviewing video surveillance footage.
