Phyllis Steiner Katz, 78, of South Florida, formerly of Lenox

Phyllis was an adored Girl Scout leader and skilled clinical social worker. She co-owned and grew a business renting baby furniture to visiting families.

Phyllis(Steiner) Katz, 78, of South Florida and Lenox, Mass., passed away peacefully on October 27, 2015.

Phyllis, a graduate of Weequahic High School, University of Chicago and Columbia University, was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Eli G. Katz. Phyllis was an adored Girl Scout leader and skilled clinical social worker. She co-owned and grew a business renting baby furniture to visiting families. Phyllis also worked with her husband at Maintenance Automation Corporation. Phyllis was an active member and dedicated choir participant of Temple Sinai of North Dade and Hevreh of the Berkshires. She volunteered as a docent in various museums and interviewed holocaust survivors to document their history.

Phyllis is survived by her three children: Heidi Katz (Edward Scott), Daniel Katz (Lisa Klein), Linda Sotnick (David) and five grandchildren, Julie (Chris Merrill), Hilary, Hannah, Elliot and Jacob.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 29 at 10 a.m. at Ahavath Sholom Cemetery on Blue Hill Road in Great Barrington.

A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Ann Church in Lenox, with Fr. CJ Waitekus officiating. Burial will follow in St. Ann's Cemetery. There will be calling hours from 9 to 10:15 a.m. in the church.

Nicholas Navarino, 90, of Waretown, N.J., formerly of Great Barrington

Navarino was a resident of Gt. Barrington for 16 years between 2004 and 2020.
