Phyllis Kiss, 83, of Lenox

Phyllis worked as a stenographer at General Electric for several years before eventually settling in Lenox and working at Doherty & Stuart PC accounting firm as an office manager prior to her retirement in 1997.

Phyllis M. Kiss, 83, of Lenox died Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Kiss was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Granville, New York, to the late Edward P. Kelly and Anna (Shinglar) Brock. She attended Draper High School in Schenectady, New York, and was a 1952 graduate. After high school, Phyllis worked as a stenographer at General Electric for several years before eventually settling in Lenox and working at Doherty & Stuart PC accounting firm as an office manager prior to her retirement in 1997.

Phyllis M. Kelly married Joseph S. Kiss, whom she had met while in high school, April 7, 1956. Her husband’s military and industrial career took the family to many locations including Syracuse, New York; Weisbaden, Germany; Huntsville, Alabama; and Pittsfield.

Phyllis was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed knitting, reading, tai chi and exercise class, and loved watching her grandchildren play sports. Along with her husband Joe, Phyllis became a fixture at many local youth sporting events. As a child, Phyllis spent many summers at Lake Saint Catherine in Poultney, Vermont, and returned there often with her own children and grandchildren. Most recently, Phyllis was a resident of the Kimball Farms independent living community and greatly enjoyed her many friends and daily activities. Phyllis was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church.

Phyllis is survived by her children Karen M. Zinchuk (Michael) of Lenox, Donna J. Lewis (Dennis) of Clifton Park, New York, and Nancy Kiss (Henry Wolfer) of Monterey; grandchildren Kyle A., Cameron M. and Hayden A. Zinchuk, and Alexandra N. and Andrew M. Lewis; and siblings John Brock (Ann) of Marco Island, Florida, Mary Bet Luke (Dick Werbeck) of Prescott, Arizona, and Anthony Brock (Marie) of Capris, Florida. Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Kiss was predeceased by her sister Patricia Beloncik and her brother-in-law George.

The funeral for Phyllis M. Kiss, who died May 19, 2018, will be held Friday, May 25, at 10 a.m. from the Roche Funeral Home, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Ann’s Church at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Monsignor John Bonzagni. Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Roche Funeral Home, 120 Main St., Lenox, MA 01240. Francis Thomas Duke Jr., 82, of Lenox

The funeral for Mr. Francis T. Duke will be held on Friday, May 16, at 11 a.m., at Trinity Church in Lenox, with Rev. Michael Tuck officiating. Burial will be private in Corashire Cemetery in Monterey. There will be no calling hours.
