Peter B. Naylor Jr. 68, of Housatonic died Saturday April 11, 2015 of esophageal cancer due to Agent Orange exposure in Vietnam peacefully with his family by his side at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

Peter was born in Long Beach, Long Island N.Y., on March 18, 1947, son of Peter Sr. and Dorothy (Hauser) Naylor. He was a 1966 graduate of Cardinal Farley Military Academy. After school Peter proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War.
Peter worked as a stone mason for his own business retiring in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved golfing, fishing, hunting and he was a fishing guide for the Berkshire Fishing Club in Becket. Peter was a member and an Honor Guard member of the Adams-Budz Post 8183, a member of the Murphy-Leary American Legion Housatonic Post, and was also very involved in the Patriots’ Pen Project and Veterans in the Classroom, both through the VFW. Peter was also part of the Funeral Detail for the VFW and was the Guidon Bearer.
Peter is survived by his wife Kathleen (Kane) Naylor whom he married on October 4, 1975 in Corpus Christi Church in Housatonic; two daughters, Meghan K. Naylor of Housatonic and Erin E. K. Naylor of Housatonic; five brothers, Garrett Naylor and his wife Mary, John Naylor and his wife Molly, William Naylor and his wife Denise, Kevin Naylor and his wife Dawn and Andrew Naylor and his wife Alice; six sisters, Barbara Duckwall, Mary Naylor, Dorothy Naylor and her husband Normand Saucier, Ann Naylor, Claire Naylor Pollart and husband John ,and Elizabeth Naylor; many nieces and nephews and his dog Cabernet. Peter was predeceased by sister Madelyn Naylor.
Funeral services for Peter B. Naylor Jr., who died April 11, will be held on Thursday, April 16 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish, Corpus Christi Church, Housatonic, with the Rev. William P. Murphy pastor, officiating. Burial will follow with Military Honors in St. Bridget’s Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington MA 01230.
