Motor vehicle collision kills pedestrian in Adams

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office has withheld releasing the name of the victim until their family and relatives are notified. 

Adams — A pedestrian walking on Route 8 was killed in an accident on Sunday, Nov. 17.

According to Julia Sabourin, chief of operations for the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office, the accident took place around 5 p.m. on November 17 on the border of Adams and North Adams, across from Bounti-Fare restaurant.

In a press release, Sabourin wrote that the pedestrian was crossing the four-lane road after parking his car and was walking across the street to enter the restaurant when he was hit.

Sabourin wrote that it was dark at the time of the accident and the operator of the motor vehicle was not under the influence of alcohol.

The victim was pronounced dead by a paramedic from Northern Berkshire EMS while en route to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

The Berkshire District Attorney’s Office has withheld releasing the victim’s name until their family and relatives are notified.
