Sheffield — Paul Frazer Moritz Jr., passed away peacefully at his home from complications due to ALS on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Paul was the son of Paul Frazer Moritz, Sr. and Cathalene Bakker Moritz of Sheffield.

Born in Great Barrington on March13, 1952, Paul moved with his family to Suffield, Conn., where he grew up and attended Suffield Academy.  He graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.  His family ties brought his return to Sheffield in 1978.  His maternal grandfather was Rev. He married Kathryn Greene in June 2003 and lived in New Marlborough since that time. He was owner of Aquatic Designs Inc. in Sheffield.

Paul’s great zest for life found him hiking the trails of the Berkshires, snowboarding the mountains of his second home in Clark, Colorado, walking the dunes of Cape Cod, swimming with Spike, his faithful furry companion, from his pontoon boat in the waters of Twin Lakes and enjoying the camaraderie of his fraternity brothers and many friends. He cherished his family and enjoyed time with them, whether at home or with his family in Florida.

Besides his wife, Kathryn, he is survived by his children Paul F. Moritz III (JP), Alex Moritz, Julie Moritz, Jocelyn Nistler, Justine Moritz, nine grandchildren, his brothers Peter of Litchfield, Conn., John of Austerlitz, N.Y., and Mark of Tampa, Fla.
