Patricia Marie Keefner, 82, of Great Barrington died Tuesday August 9, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Patricia was born in Waterbury, Conn. on January 26, 1940 as the daughter of Lewis and Louise (Cunin) Newman. She worked as a supervisor at Montgomery Wards, the Shed, as a secretary at Fairview Hospital, and as a secretary at Simon’s Rock College, retiring in 2000. Patricia enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, being on her computer, and donating to St. Jude’s and Berkshire Humane Society.
Patricia is survived by her husband, Thomas Keefner of Great Barrington, whom she married in February of 1983; one son, William Crane and his life partner Joy Germain; two daughters, Darlene Kern and fiancé Mark Ostrander of Great Barrington and Patricia Boyd of Ft. Myers, Fla.; three step daughters, Joeanne and husband Richard, Connie and Beverly; one half brother, Richard Daley of Housatonic; five grandchildren; eleven step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several step great grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by two brothers, Butch and Charles Newman.
A Graveside Service for Patricia Marie Keefner will be held on Friday August 12 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Bridget’s Cemetery in Housatonic. Family will receive friends on Friday August 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Birches Roy Funeral Home at 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Patricia’s memory can be made to either St. Jude’s or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
